Haendel

Georg Friedrich Haendel, compositor nascido na Alemanha, mas radicado na Inglaterra, compôs um oratório chamado o Messias.  Desta peça, de 51 movimentos, em que ele conta a vida de Jesus Cristo, o movimento de nº 42 ganhou expressão e grande sucesso:  o Aleluia.

A letra, simples diz, resumidamente:

Porque o Senhor Deus Onipotente reina
O Seu reino é chegado, o reino de nosso Senhor e de seu Cristo
e Ele reinará para sempre.
Rei dos reis, Senhor dos senhores, e Ele reinará para sempre.
Aleluia.
